Alhambra
The Alhambra collection is composed of a series of pieces inspired by the mural decoration of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra, specifically a detail that appears repeatedly throughout the famous Court of the Lions.
One of the hallmarks of the Alhambra's architecture is the need to cover the entire interior space decoratively. Within this framework, in which the overall beautification of the complex is so important, one of the most frequently used elements by Granada's architects and artisans of the time was the ataurique. Plant motifs rendered in plaster, stylized and used as a decorative pattern. The endless repetition of themes is a metaphor for the eternity that permeates everything and is established as a way of capturing the mutability of the universe. The Garden of Eden.
In our collection, we have sought to translate these motifs into metal, combining them with handcrafted glass spheres in three colors that recall the basic chromaticism of the geometric ceramic decoration that flows throughout the palaces in dialogue with nature.
